Urban Gathering

The front landscape and architecture blend with the neighborhood while the backyard presents a striking modern addition enhanced by strong hardscape geometry and lush plantings situated around a koi pond. 

A plant collector’s delight creates intimate spaces in an urban setting.

A trio of tropical inspired planters sited in a sea of Prairie Dropseed grass greets guests at the city sidewalk. The contents of the planters change with the seasons, allowing for an ever-changing aspect in the landscape. The brightly colored front door provides a focal point to the yard.

“It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood” sign is a fantastic inspiration for the homeowners and their guests as they are leaving this urban gathering garden and heading back into the community. 
A green roof off the upstairs balcony helps mitigate heat and brings the garden up to the second floor of the home. 
A recirculating stone water cube is a great spot for the neighborhood birds to gather next to the front yard gathering spot. 
The low-voltage landscape lighting was designed to pair with the lighting from the home. These intimate spaces transition easily into the evening hours.
